Tragedy in the Ottavia area, on the western outskirts of Rome, where a murder-suicide took place inside a carpentry shop. The victims are an 80-year-old man, originally from Naples, and a 39-year-old Roman, both linked to the artisan activity.
The owner of the company discovered the bodies, finding the elderly man already lifeless with two gunshot wounds to the head and one to the back, and the younger man dying outside the warehouse with a head wound. The latter was rushed to Gemelli Hospital, but died shortly thereafter.
The semi-automatic pistol used in the crime was found not far from the bodies. According to an initial reconstruction by investigators, coordinated by the Flying Squad with the support of the Scientific Police and the Carabinieri, the murder occurred at the height of an argument between the two colleagues. The 80-year-old shot the young man and then took his own life in a nearby field.
The area has been cordoned off to allow for the necessary investigations. Investigations are underway to clarify the motive for the dramatic act.

This article is very sad and makes you think about how violence can also arise in work situations. I don't understand why the old man decided to do something so serious, and I hope there are more controls in carpentry shops.
