Caserta – A large fire broke out in an abandoned structure in via Don Salvatore Vitale, on the border between San Cipriano d'Aversa and Casapesenna, in the province of Caserta. The flames, which broke out in the late morning, generated a thick column of black smoke, visible from several municipalities in the Caserta and Giugliano areas.
The mayor of Casapesenna, Giustina Zagaria, launched an appeal to citizens: “While waiting for the official findings of the Fire Department and Arpac, I invite everyone, as a precaution, to stay at home, keep doors and windows closed and remove laundry from courtyards and balconies”.
The alert was raised to ensure the safety of the population, while the competent authorities are working to assess the situation and put out the fire.
