Naples – Moments of terror last night in San Giovanni a Teduccio, where unknown individuals fired several gunshots at the home of Antonio Gallo, 49, known as “Marzio”, believed to be linked by family ties to the D'Amico and Rinaldi clans.
The man, involved in the past in anti-mafia operations and already arrested in 2021 together with the boss Salvatore D'Amico, alias 'o pirata.
The bullets hit the entrance door of the building and also damaged a car parked nearby. According to the first investigative hypotheses, the gesture could be an intimidation linked to the collaboration with justice activity by the man's son, Luigi Gallo from whom all the family members have dissociated themselves.
Antonio Gallo had previously ended up in the crosshairs of law enforcement during a blitz against the criminal axis D'Amico-Mazzarella, historic clans of the eastern area of the Campania capital, and his figure is considered central to the criminal balance of power of San Giovanni a Teduccio.
The episode, anticipated by Cronache di Napoli, is being investigated by the Carabinieri of the Poggioreale company, who are examining the video surveillance images of the area and collecting testimonies. The ambush is part of a climate of growing tension in the area, the scene of a feud between rival groups for control of the drug dealing areas.
