Naples – "We worked until the last breath. For urgent and short-term services, guaranteed within 3 or 10 days, we were able to satisfy 96% of the requests". This was declared by the President of the Campania Region, of luca, during the presentation of updated data on waiting lists in the regional health system.
De Luca underlined how Campania continues to operate in conditions of strong disadvantage: “We have 15 thousand fewer employees than the national average and we receive fewer resources than all the other regions from the Health Fund”.
The governor defined the results obtained as “a miracle” made possible by “the extraordinary commitment of doctors, nurses, technicians and administrators, motivated to build a healthcare system of excellence”.
However, some critical issues were recognized, particularly regarding endoscopic diagnostics and ophthalmology: "There are delays, but they are due to a lack of personnel. We will do everything possible to fill these gaps in the coming months."
De Luca finally reiterated the Region's willingness to continue on the path of improvement, despite the structural limitations still present.

The article is interesting but there are many things that are not well understood. The health situation in Campania seems complicated and more resources would be needed to improve. We hope that the problems will be solved soon, even if the road is long.
