The folk music world is in fibrillation: the Napule's Power movement is about to award a plaque of recognition to a pillar of the genre, celebrating a decade of creative chaos that mixed independent and popular traditions in an unexpected explosion.
A Tribute to Folkloric Chaos
Led by those who have always put the spotlight on regional music, Napule's Power rewards the commitment to valorizing folklore, especially Liscio, with an eye on independent productions that challenge conventions. This award comes for the indirect benefits brought to the Italian folk movement, boldly uniting the emerging world with popular roots, in a mix that might turn purists' noses up but that has given an electric shock to the sector.
Events That Blew Up Banks
Since the first Notte del Liscio in Gatteo Mare, the activity has unleashed a storm of events: contests like Il Liscio nella Rete that have discovered hidden talents, festivals like Cara Forlì and Birichina that have attracted hordes of young people, up to the Liscio Street Parade and the Concertone del Liscio del Primo Maggio. Let's not forget the Veglione Romagnolo, the Accademia del Liscio Romagnolo and the Santa Balere circuit, which have re-started the folk industry with a contagious energy, culminating in a national presence that has made millions dance.
An Unstoppable Crescendo
The plaque will be awarded at Music Day in Rome on June 14, during the presentation of the book La Cantina del Nuovo Liscio, published by Tempesta Editore. This recognition comes as Liscio continues to evolve, driven by initiatives that have brought the genre back to the center of attention, benefiting the entire Italian folk scene with a vigor that shows no signs of stopping.
