New blow to drug trafficking in the Salerno area. The Guardia di Finanza has executed a precautionary order, issued by the investigating judge at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Salerno, against 12 people investigated for possession and dealing of cocaine, hashish and marijuana.
Two of them were sent to prison, while the other ten were placed under house arrest. The operation represents a further development of the investigation that last April 8 led to the arrest of 14 people, believed to be part of a criminal association aimed at drug trafficking.
The suspects reached today by the measure are not organic to the criminal association, but according to the investigators they represented its "terminals", that is, the individuals responsible for carrying out the retail sales.

During the investigations, the Guardia di Finanza has already arrested four people red-handed and seized 8 kilos of hashish and 600 grams of cocaine. During the latest raid, in the home of one of the suspects - who ended up under house arrest - a Russian-made pistol with a scratched serial number was found, seven bullets in the tank and over 6 thousand euros in cash. He was arrested again, red-handed, for possession of a clandestine weapon.
The investigative activity confirms the presence of a dense drug dealing network that operated between Salerno and the Agro Nocerino.
