A reckless escape lasting over four kilometers, between the streets of Volla and those of Naples, ended with an arrest and a manhunt that is still ongoing. The protagonist is Giuseppe Arienzo, 32, already known to the police, who ended up in handcuffs for resisting a public official after a daring chase.

It all started on Via Roma in Volla, when a Carabinieri patrol from the Torre del Greco mobile radio unit ordered a suspicious Volkswagen T-Roc to stop. Arienzo, driving with three other passengers, ignored the order and hit the gas, sparking a mad dash through the nighttime traffic.

The chase ended in Naples, on Via del Chiaro di Luna, where the car crashed into a sidewalk. At that point the three accomplices managed to disappear into the night, while Arienzo was stopped by the military. During the search of the vehicle, the Carabinieri found numerous burglary tools, consistent with car thefts and other illegal activities.
