Torre del Greco – The Naples Police Headquarters' efforts to combat drug trafficking continue unabated. Yesterday afternoon, the State Police pulled off another raid, arresting a 29-year-old Neapolitan man on charges of illegal possession of narcotics.

The operation started in via Lungo Giardino del Carmine, in Greek's tower, during one of the extraordinary territorial control services. The officers of the Police Station noticed a young man on a scooter with a suspicious attitude. After parking the vehicle, the boy took a bag from under the seat and headed, cautiously, towards an apartment on the ground floor.

The attention of the police was captured by the young man's cautious behavior and by the fact that, through the open window frames, they could glimpse the interior of the apartment. They noticed the man hiding the envelope he had just taken inside a piece of furniture, near a balcony.

At that point, the officers decided to intervene and carried out a search of the apartment. The search was successful: inside the indicated piece of furniture, the police officers found 15 blocks of hashish, for a total weight of about 1,5 kg, and 3 packages of cocaine, for a weight of about 80 grams.

Faced with the evidence, the 29-year-old was immediately arrested. This operation is part of the broader strategy of the Naples Police Headquarters to stem the phenomenon of drug dealing and trafficking in the area.

It is important that the police continue to do these checks, even if the risks are high for them. I hope that more people can be helped by these operations, even if it is not always easy.
