In Arzano, tax evasion is no longer invisible. Thanks to a thorough investigation by the Municipal Tax Office, they have been Around 1.300 Tari evaders discovered, never registered or hidden behind undeclared surfaces. A detailed map of the tax underground that now comes to light and guarantees a breath of fresh air for municipal budgets. The result is tangible: no increase in waste tax for 2025, despite the general increase in service costs.
The news was formalized during the last session of the City Council, where the resolution establishing a concrete turning point in the fight against tax evasion. “We covered the entire cost of the service without increasing the rates – explained the Councillor for the Budget, Giuseppe Vitagliano – because we have chosen to broaden the contributory base, and not to burden those who have always paid”.
The plan has made it possible to address a total expenditure of over 7,3 million euros for the integrated waste cycle, which includes collection, sweeping and disposal of all fractions. Fundamental, according to the mayor Cynthia Aruta, the principle underlying the intervention: "A arzano the rules apply to everyone. Those who evaded, now pay. Those who have always done their part, will not be penalized. This is the fairness we want: no slogans, only facts”.
The discovery of undeclared utilities will also have a retroactive effect, with the recovery of taxes evaded in the last five years. But for the Municipality of Arzano this is only the first step: the fight against tax evasion will continue with rigour, as a political, administrative and cultural choice. Because governing with justice means protecting honest citizens and demonstrating that paying everyone means paying less.

The idea of finding tax evaders is good, but I don't know if it will be enough for everyone. I hope people understand the importance of paying taxes, but sometimes it is not easy for those who have economic problems.
I don't agree with how the situation is being handled, there are too many people who can't afford to pay and risk being penalized. Taxes should be fairer.
I think it's fair that tax evaders pay, but there should be more help for those who have financial difficulties. Not everyone has the ability to pay on time and this could create problems.
