Moments of panic erupted in Arzano, in the province of Naples, where a "crazy" seagull attacked and killed a pigeon in Piazza Cimmino.

After having killed its prey, the bird, about one metre in size with open wings, began to attack some passers-by who had just bought fish products at the fishmonger's.

The patrol of the transit local police whose officers, led by commander Biagio Chiariello, got out of the car and first attracted the bird's attention with bait and then immobilized it.

The bird was transported to the Wildlife Recovery Center, where health workers took charge of it for treatment.
