Yet another unfortunate episode of fraud against the elderly and in this case of a 100-year-old man. And once again it is a Neapolitan specialist.
The Carabinieri of Poggiorsini have executed a house arrest warrant issued by the Bari investigating judge for aggravated fraud against a centenarian from the small town of Murgia, served on a man originally from the province of Naples.
The incident, to which the precautionary order refers, dates back to the afternoon of February 6, when the man, after gaining the trust of the elderly man, convincing him that he was there on behalf of the police force, with the aim of collecting a deposit necessary for the release of his son who lives in the United States, had him hand over numerous gold jewels that the man had at home.
On the basis of the first fragmentary information provided by the victims, the Poggiorsini Carabinieri have extracted the footage from the video surveillance circuits, fully identifying the man and outlining the entire route both in the phase of approaching the target and in the phases of escape.
