Hospitalization and emergency transfer
Il child, originally from Vibonati, in the province of Salerno, was initially taken to the hospital in Sapri yesterday. Given the severity of the injuries and the need for specialist care, the doctors at the Salerno hospital ordered his immediate transfer to Santobono in Naples, a centre of pediatric excellence.
The little boy's conditions alerted the police. In-depth investigations are currently underway to reconstruct what happened to the child and clarify the origin of the serious injuries. At the moment, investigators are working to ascertain whether the fractures are compatible with accidental events or whether there may be external responsibilities.
