Pozzuoli – New problems linked to the bradyseism of the Campi Flegrei affected via Antiniana yesterday evening, a crucial artery connecting Naples and Pozzuoli. Due to the rising ground, a manhole cover gave way, opening a small hole in the asphalt, even though the road had recently been resurfaced.
The population expressed concern, leading to a rapid intervention by the municipal technicians of the Civil Protection of Pozzuoli and the technicians of the Vesuvius Observatory. After having secured the affected area, the road was reopened to traffic by cordoning off half the carriageway. The authorities have ruled out a connection between the collapse and the fumaroles of the Solfatara.

The bradyseism situation in Pozzuoli is worrying, but it is good that the technicians intervened quickly. However, I wonder if there are other risks for the population in the future since the ground continues to move.
