The last hopes of seeing Brescia Calcio honor its federal commitments and pay its members' outstanding wages for the last two months by 15:XNUMX pm yesterday have definitely vanished.
Massimo Cellino, owner of the club, confirmed what he has announced several times in recent weeks: he has not deposited the 3 million euros needed to settle the financial debts. A decision that marks the end of an era for the Lombard club, which after 114 years of history finds itself facing exclusion from professional championships and an inevitable start of bankruptcy proceedings.
The failure to cover the debts has in fact triggered the federal provision which effectively excludes the Brescia from the Italian professional football system, a huge blow for a club with such a long-standing tradition. The fans, the city and the entire sports environment now find themselves having to deal with an uncertain future, in which the club's history risks coming to an abrupt halt without an immediate and concrete turning point.
