Capua – Pranto Hawlader, the 21-year-old Bangladeshi accused of the murder of Alagie Sabally, the 17-year-old originally from Gambia killed on Sunday afternoon in the kitchen of the restaurant of the Masseria Adinolfi, in Sant'Angelo in Formis, a hamlet of Capua, will remain behind bars. Capua.
The decision was made by the investigating judge Daniela Vecchiarelli of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, at the end of the hearing to validate the arrest ordered on Monday by the Sammarinese Prosecutor's Office, headed by the prosecutor Pierpaolo Bruni.
During the hearing, in the presence of deputy prosecutors Mariangela Condello and Gionata Fiore, Hawlader, assisted by lawyer Paolo Di Furia, confirmed his version of the facts: a fight with Alagie, whom he knew from having attended the same community in the past, which culminated with the use of scissors to defend himself from the 17-year-old's punches.
“I didn't want to kill him,” the assistant cook reiterated, as he had already declared to the police and the prosecutors immediately after the incident.
The autopsy scheduled for today on Alagie's body will now clarify the dynamics of the murder, in particular the intensity of the blows inflicted and whether these are compatible with a defensive action or a deliberate attack.
"Pranto is shocked by what happened," said lawyer Di Furia upon leaving prison, "but he is being assisted with professionalism. He acted to defend himself, not to kill."
The murder, which occurred during an event with dozens of people present in the farmhouse, has shocked the local community, while investigations continue to reconstruct every detail of the tragedy.
