PARMA - «Italian football is once again contestable» said Luigi De Siervo, CEO of Serie A, from the stage of the Serie A Festival underway in Parma. A statement that reflects the transformation of the championship, where in six years four different teams have alternated on the most coveted throne, with Napoli and Bologna the latest surprises in chronological order.
No more suffocating hegemonies, but a more open and lively system, where every club, with a clear vision and a solid organization, can aspire to the top. De Siervo underlined how this change has rekindled passion and hope in historic places that have been starved of success for too long: Parma, Florence, Turin, are all cities that - following the example of realities like Atalanta and Bologna – can now legitimately believe in a real takeover.
The continuous rotation of coaches, 14 changes in view of the new season, is a further sign of a system in turmoil, where the sporting identity is built step by step. In a football that no longer has fixed masters, anything can happen, and every day becomes a new page to write.

The idea that Italian football is once again contestable is interesting, but there are also many factors that can influence the final result. Teams must invest well and make the right choices to succeed in this new context.
