“Trockstar”: The Dadaist Manifesto of the New Comic Punk
With 16 tracks ranging from synth punk to singer-songwriter electronica, **“Trockstar”** is much more than a simple album: it is an anarchic and ironic manifesto, challenging the conventions of the Italian music scene.
“If trap was born from rap, trock was born from rock”, explains Gino Fastidio, playing with genre labels. The result is a collection of songs that alternate nonsense and social satire, comedy and criticism, in the artist's perfect "politically incorrect" style.
From TV to Return to Music: “This Record Is a Liberation”
After the success of the viral single “È gas”, Gino Fastidio temporarily abandons the spotlight of the small screen to return to his original passion: music.
“This album is a liberation” - tells - "After years of just being a comedian, I said: “Enough, I’m going back to messing around with the guitar!”. It’s punk, dirty or wrong… but it’s mine. And then, who said you can’t laugh without expressing the discomfort that surrounds me/us?”.
From Punk Cellars to Television: The Parable of Gino Fastidio
Born as a discopunk project in 2005, Gino Fastidio debuted as a trio with an overwhelming sound and satirical lyrics that combine dementia and social reflection. Between 2005 and 2009, the band released three self-produced albums that became cult:
- The Age of Digital Dirt (2005)
- I Hate the Modern Age (2006)
- I Reflect (2009)
In 2009, the frontman decided to embark on a new solo path, combining music and comedy. This is how the hybrid was born that would lead him to television success thanks to programs such as Made in Sud, Colorado, Stasera tutto è possibile, Mad in Italy and Audiscion.
Today: an artist between satire and distortions
With his unmistakable “rosatronic” guitar and a sour and musical comedy, Gino Fastidio has become an artist difficult to label. A rebel with the six strings, capable of alternating lightning-fast jokes with irreverent songs.
With “Trockstar”, the Neapolitan artist returns to being serious — or rather, to not taking himself too seriously, as only true comedians (and true punks) know how to do.

The album Trockstar seems to have a very interesting approach, mixing various musical genres. However, I don't know if I can understand the message that the artist wants to convey, there are too many things to consider for the listener.
