Aversa – A night of tight controls in the heart of Aversa's nightlife, with the Carabinieri of the Operations and Radiomobile Unit in action from late yesterday evening until the early hours of this morning.
Supported by four motorcycle patrols, the military combed the city center, taking advantage of the agility of the two wheels to reach even the narrowest and most crowded streets of the Norman city.
The operation's outcome is significant: 250 people and 180 vehicles checked, with 74 fines issued for violations of the highway code. The most common violations? Lack of insurance coverage, driving without a license, lack of helmet or seat belt. Eight vehicles were seized, 23 were subjected to administrative detention, for a total of 17.824 euros in fines.
But that's not all. During the checks, the police they stopped a 25-year-old originally from Potenza, found in possession of a 19-centimeter long hunting knife, 4,20 grams of hashish and a 63,5-centimeter baseball bat, hidden in his car.
In another operation, a house search led to the seizure of a marijuana plant about one meter tall, found in the home of a 37-year-old already under house arrest for drug-related crimes.
Both men were reported at liberty: the 25-year-old for illegal possession of weapons and instruments capable of causing harm, as well as for possession of drugs; the 37-year-old for possession of narcotics. The operation by the Carabinieri confirms their commitment to safety in the Aversa nightlife, with a clear message: zero tolerance for those who break the rules.

The Carabinieri operation seems to have been well organized and has led to significant results. However, I wonder if these controls are actually sufficient to guarantee safety in the movida, or if a more structured intervention is needed.
