Sessa Aurunca – A road tragedy occurred this morning along provincial road 81, in the Sessa Aurunca area, with two young victims.
They are Matteo Ferrara, 23 years old, a carabiniere in service in Milan, and Melissa Rea, 22 years old, both originally from Sessa Aurunca.
The tragedy occurred while the two boys were riding a scooter, heading towards the sea along the Appian Way for a relaxing day. According to an initial reconstruction, the two-wheeled vehicle they were riding hit a car. The exact dynamics are still being examined by investigators.
The young soldier had recently returned to his hometown for the summer holidays. He and his girlfriend, who came from two different parts of the municipality, had decided to spend a day at the seaside together, without knowing that the trip would turn into a tragic farewell.
The Carabinieri intervened on the spot, closing all the surrounding roads to allow the surveys. Traffic in the area remained completely blocked for hours.
The police are now trying to reconstruct exactly what happened, but the news has already shocked the local community, still in disbelief at the sudden disappearance of two such young boys, snatched from life while chasing a moment of serenity.

It is truly sad what happened to Matteo and Melissa, two young lives broken in an instant. I hope that the investigations will bring clarity on how a tragic accident like this could have happened, because the community deserves answers.
Many times the fault lies with the motorcyclist who thinks he is Valentino Rossi. We see it every weekend... reckless riders who don't respect the highway code. A huge loss for these young people... destroyed families...
