Letters – The restoration of the roads damaged by the fiber optic works has finally begun, after the heavy fines imposed by the Municipal Police for the numerous irregularities found on the construction sites.
The violations that triggered the fines
The checks of the past few weeks had brought to light:
Excavations not reported according to the regulations
Rough restoration of the road surface
Dangerous situations for pedestrians and motorists
Irregularities that have cost heavy fines to the executing companies and the client companies, now committed to making the affected areas safe.
“The goal is not only to fine, but to guarantee safety and urban decorum,” explained the Commander of the Municipal Police Salvatore Giordano, underlining the importance of monitoring the restoration work.
Mayor Anna Amendola and Councillor for Roads Giuseppe Giordano are on the same page:
“The city cannot be transformed into an open-air construction site. Those who operate on public land must respect the rules.”
The interventions will continue in the coming days, following a schedule agreed with the companies. In the meantime, the Municipal Police assures that it will continue to monitor to avoid the repetition of similar situations.

It is important that the roads are well repaired, but it is not clear why there were these irregularities. I hope that checks will be more frequent in the future to avoid similar problems and protect everyone's safety.
