The Neapolitan epic of an adopted son”, the new highly anticipated volume by John Ludden, cult author and international voice of the soul of football. After having enchanted readers with the bestseller “Once upon a time in Naples” on Diego Maradona, Ludden returns to narrate an incredible blue adventure.
McTominay's Redemption: A Hymn to Football and the City
The book tells the epic of Scott McTominay, the Scottish midfielder who, with the strength of his heart, silent dedication and explosiveness of his goals, was able to conquer the city of Naples. The work is announced as much more than a simple sports story: it is a true hymn to redemption, to the beauty of second chances and to the magic that only football, combined with the soul of Naples, can create.
Ludden describes a year of “fierce passion, fiery derbies and European nights,” in which a boy from the North becomes a legend. Through the tireless running of that number eight, the city of Naples rediscovers the pulse of its collective identity, celebrating a new symbol on the field of “Maradona.”
Cinematic style and emotions
With the cinematic style that made him famous, Ludden skillfully intertwines news and poetry, memory and dream, to tell the metamorphosis of a man and a people united by a destiny written on the green grass of the stadium. “A reading that excites, inflames, moves”, promises the publisher La Valle Del Tempo. The volume celebrates, with a clear and powerful voice, the eternal power of the game of football.

This book seems promising, but let's hope it's not just a commercial thing. McTominay is an interesting player, but his story needs to be told truthfully and not just to make sales. It would be nice to read more about his real impact in Naples and how people really perceive him.
