Rome – Over 4.000 pilgrim members of the Pro Loco and approximately 800 flower-decorating volunteers reached Rome over the weekend to take part in two events of the highest spiritual, cultural and artistic value: the Jubilee of the Pro Loco and the great Infiorata of the Pro Loco of Italy, which transformed St. Peter's Square and Via della Conciliazione into a scene of extraordinary beauty.

As many as 34 between Pro Loco and groups of flower arrangers, coming from all over Italy, starting from the late afternoon of Saturday 28 June, created an impressive floral carpet inspired by the theme of prayer and faith. Petals, fresh flowers, colored sawdust and natural materials gave life to artistic compositions of great visual and symbolic impact, performed with different techniques and regional styles.

A choral event that celebrated not only spirituality and devotion, but also the strength of cohesion between local communities, united by the daily mission of enhancing Italy's intangible heritage.

"This day represents a fundamental moment for the Pro Loco of Italy. We have made a journey of spirituality and beauty - said Antonino La Spina, national president of Unpli - The Jubilee and the Infiorata were the occasion to honor the value of cultural volunteering, the roots of the territories and the deep bond between community and tradition.

Over seven hundred infioratori, coming from thirteen regions, have created works that speak of faith, art and identity. It was a great collective embrace, an Italy united in values, colors and sharing”.

The tireless and passionate volunteers worked all night long, creating an exciting and participatory installation that enchanted thousands of faithful and visitors.

The two-day event ended with the Pro Loco Jubilee and the evocative passage of the Holy Door, which saw over 4.000 pilgrims participate in a spirit of faith, sharing and hope.

The Pro Loco Jubilee and the Infiorata have reaffirmed the central role of volunteering in building a cohesive, active society rooted in its traditions.

The event described in the article seems to have been very beautiful and important for everyone. However, I do not understand how it was possible to make such a large carpet in just one weekend. Maybe there should have been more volunteers.

It is interesting to see how the Pro Loco have joined forces to create something unique. But I wonder if these initiatives really attract the attention of people from all regions or just the usual suspects.
