Naples – Traffic paralyzed, wild parking, illegal parking and general disorder. With the arrival of summer, the area between Bagnoli and Fuorigrotta – in particular discesa Coroglio, via Coroglio and via Cavalleggeri d'Aosta – has once again become hostage to the chaos of the nightlife, transforming itself into a trap of sheet metal and horns on weekends.

Citizens themselves documented yet another nightmare Saturday night, with photos and videos sent to MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli and 10th Municipality councilor Salvatore Orga, both members of Europa Verde.

The images show rivers of cars blocked for hours, between risky maneuvers, sidewalks invaded by vehicles and illegal parking attendants who manage parking in an arbitrary manner, contributing to the collapse of traffic.

Green Europe: “Immediate crackdown needed”

"The situation in Coroglio is out of control," Borrelli and Orga complain, "and it's no longer tolerable that entire neighborhoods are being sacrificed to uncontrolled nightlife. We need a constant police presence and widespread checks to prevent illegal building and street crime."

The complaint by the representatives of Europa Verde turns the spotlight back on a problem that regularly recurs with the summer, worsening the discomfort of residents and compromising the liveability of the area. “The movida cannot transform into widespread illegality – they conclude –. The State must make its presence felt even on summer nights”.

“It is clear from the images that the situation is completely out of control and dangerously self-managed by characters of all kinds and illegal parking attendants. We want to remember how in a not too distant past this condition caused the death and injury of several young people involved in fights and stabbings right on these streets.

We believe it is extremely dangerous to continue with this trend if we want to avoid witnessing new dramatic events. We have asked for the permanent presence of law enforcement on weekends in Bagnoli and Coroglio, one of the areas most popular with young people in the city, which must be strictly controlled by uniformed officers to protect the safety of thousands of people who crowd the venues present”. This is the comment of Borrelli and Orga.

The situation in Bagnoli and Coroglio is really complex and there are traffic problems that seem to have no end. Citizens must be listened to and the police should intervene more often, but it is difficult to find effective solutions.
