Naples – A business in Piazza Cavour has been closed for 15 days by order of the Naples Police Chief following a series of serious incidents, including drug dealing, resisting arrest, and assaults on law enforcement officers.
It all started when officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid, during a routine check, noticed a large group of people outside the premises and smelled a strong odor of marijuana. While they were carrying out checks, a 20-year-old Neapolitan attempted to escape, but was stopped after a fight with officers.
The situation escalated when other patrons tried to attack the cops to help the young man escape. Only the arrival of other patrol cars allowed the situation to be brought back under control.
The 20-year-old was arrested for resisting and injuring a public official, while two other customers were reported for the same crimes. Near the club, the officers also seized a bag containing 2 grams of marijuana.
The closure order, implemented on Tuesday, aims to prevent further risks to public order and citizen safety.
The intervention was necessary to guarantee the legality and tranquility of the area. The measure is part of the activity of contrasting degradation and drug dealing carried out by the Naples Police Headquarters, which in recent months has intensified controls in sensitive areas of the city.
