Naples – There are images from numerous public and private cameras in the Sanità district that could help the agents of the Naples Flying Squad identify the lone gunman who shot and wounded two young people the other night.
A failed ambush perhaps born to avenge a fight between young people a few days ago and which is part of a context of continuous tensions, frequent among young members of the organized crime in the neighborhood.
One of the injured is the 22 year old Julius Pirozzi, with no criminal record, who is named after his grandfather, an elderly boss serving a life sentence under the 41 bis regime, but not at all involved in Camorra affairs. The young man is in fact the son of Vincenzo, known as "Enzo", a successful director and actor also known for his
anti-Camorra battles despite his surname but also brother of Giuseppe, actor of “Sea Out” in the role of “Micciarella".
This morning the father, speaking to Il Mattino, expressed his desire to leave Naples. “I resisted, I stayed despite this neighborhood and this city having taken away a father from me and despite them being about to take away a wife and a child who was about to be born. Now I risked losing my eldest son, because no one does anything”, has explained.
Actor and director Vincenzo Pirozzi, father of one of the injured: "I want to leave Naples, because nobody does anything"
And then he let himself go into a bitter reflection: “When the news of the ambush at Sanità was announced, everyone promptly returned to underline my story, my surname. No one instead remembered that my wife and I raised our two children with sacrifices and healthy values. Today Giulio works as a runner in TV and film productions and Giuseppe, the youngest, is having a good career as an actor. They are two honest and good boys who have studied”.
His son has already returned home and was deemed curable in 20 days after doctors at the Vecchio Pellegrini hospital treated the wound to his right leg hit by one of the bullets fired by the gunman.
Vincenzo La Sala, 23, the other injured man and perhaps the real target of the ambush, is still in a reserved prognosis at the Caserta hospital. He is related to prominent criminals in the past linked to the Missos, and to Giulio Pirozzi. One of the bullets hit him in the sternum and very close to the heart.

This article highlights a situation of violence that is truly worrying. It is sad to see young people involved in these dynamics. We hope that the authorities can take more effective measures to protect citizens and prevent further similar incidents.
