Naples – Train circulation on Metro Line 1 suspended between Piscinola and Colli Aminei for three months, starting from June 20th.
The announcement was made by ANM (Azienda Napoletana Mobilità), explaining that the works will involve the resurfacing of the tracks and the tamping of the rails in the stations of Frullone, Chiaiano and Piscinola (Scampia terminus).
The ANM has specified that the intervention, which cannot be carried out only at night due to its complexity, requires the total suspension of the service.
Expected duration: approximately 90 days (until mid-September).
Replacement service: shuttle buses will be activated between the affected stations.
Citizens' protests and requests for clarification
The decision has raised concerns among commuters, especially those living in the northern area of Naples and neighboring municipalities. Nino Simeone, president of the Municipality's Infrastructure Commission, has officially asked for clarification from the ANM and the Mobility Councilor Edoardo Cosenza:
"The closure of such a strategic route will create enormous inconvenience. We ask the ANM to communicate the work schedule with transparency and to guarantee efficient replacement services".
Lack of details on the organization of replacement buses.
Fears of delays: residents ask for guarantees on the times for restoring the service.
Traffic Impact: Increased bus traffic could congest already troubled roads in the northern area.
The ANM will publish the official plan with bus timetables and routes in the next few days.
Simeone assured that he will monitor the situation to avoid excessive inconvenience.

The decision to stop trains on Line 1 for three months is really problematic. Commuters will have a lot of trouble getting around and I hope that ANM can organize the shuttle buses well so as not to create too many complications.
