Naples – An automatic external defibrillator (AED) has been installed in the atrium of the City Council building in Napoli, in via Verdi. The device, located on the ground floor near the main entrance, represents a fundamental life-saving device in the event of cardiac emergencies.
The defibrillator is equipped with intuitive instructions for use, designed even for those with no medical experience, with the aim of enabling timely intervention in critical situations such as cardiac arrest.
The president of the city council, Enza Amato, commented on the initiative, underlining: “With this installation we want to strengthen the culture of prevention and guarantee a health facility that is always available for citizens. It is an important step towards greater safety within institutional spaces”.
The initiative was promoted by the Councilor for Health and Green Vincenzo Santagada, and is part of a broader strategy of the municipal administration to spread first aid tools and make public places increasingly accessible and safe.
The defibrillator will be available not only to municipal staff, but also to citizens who access the building to attend council meetings or use public spaces, offering an additional level of protection in the event of an emergency.

The defibrillator initiative is very interesting and important, but I wonder if there is enough information for everyone on how to use it correctly. I hope there are training courses for citizens to raise awareness.
