Varcaturo – A past argument, never really settled, culminated in a tragedy on the beach of Varcaturo, a seaside resort on the border between Naples and Caserta. Nicola Mirti, 18, was killed yesterday with two stab wounds to the chest, inflicted with a spring knife over 20 centimeters long.

The murderer is believed to be Salvatore Sannino, 19 years old, already identified by the investigations and arrested that same afternoon by the Caserta Flying Squad.

The dynamics of the ambush

The murder occurred around 13:XNUMX PM yesterday in a local beach. Despite immediate help, Nicola did not make it: he died shortly after in the Emergency Room of the Santa Maria delle Grazie Hospital in Pozzuoli, where there were also moments of great tension.

What nailed Sannino, who did not confess, were the testimonies of those present and, above all, the images from the premises' surveillance cameras, which allowed the crime scene to be reconstructed.

An ancient rivalry and shady background

According to investigators, the motive dates back nine months, when an unresolved rivalry arose between the two young men. Investigative sources do not rule out the possibility of criminal activity behind the fight: the victim, in fact, had a prior drug conviction, as confirmed by officers from the Castel Volturno Police Department and the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Prosecutor's Office.

Sannino was transferred to prison and will face questioning before the magistrate. The charge is voluntary homicide, and the evidentiary framework already seems solid. But the fact that he arrived armed at the shore could trigger premeditation. He had in fact a 20-centimeter spring knife.
