Castel Volturno -According to investigators, the fight, which broke out from a trivial glance too much, was part of something bigger. The classic "one glance too many" was only the spark that led to the tragic death of Nicola Mirti, 18, stabbed on the Varcaturo coast.

The alleged attacker, Salvatore Sannino, 19, was arrested shortly after the murder, still wearing the victim's blood-stained costume. Both originally from Mugnano and frequent visitors to the "palazzine", a well-known drug dealing area in the hinterland north of Naples, the two had known each other for some time and had already had disagreements between them in the past, including on social media, involving insults and threats.
The dynamics and precedents between victim and aggressor
According to what emerged from Sannino's interrogation at the police station, the fight that culminated in the murder with two stabs to the chest, would have arisen from a banal pretext: a glance too many. However, investigators believe that the violence is part of a broader context, linked to the acquaintances of the two young men. Both Nicola Mirti and Salvatore Sannino would have been regular visitors to the "palazzine" area, an area sadly known for drug dealing activities.
The profile of the victim and the aggressor
Nicholas Myrtle, 18, had recently had problems with the law, and the same fate would have befallen some of his family members. He had been living in Marianella with his paternal grandparents for some time, despite being a resident of Giugliano. His mother, the tiktoker Luisa, lives in Mugnano and is separated from Nicola's father, having a new partner and other children.
There is currently little information about Salvatore Sannino, 19 years old and resident in Mugnano, but investigations are underway to reconstruct his profile and delve deeper into the ties between the two young men and the environment they frequented. The arrest occurred quickly, with the 19-year-old stopped while still wearing the costume soaked in his victim's blood.
The tragedy turns the spotlight back on the difficult reality of some suburbs and on youth violence that often has its roots in contexts of degradation and crime.

It is truly sad that a fight over a look can lead to so much violence. It is incomprehensible how young people can reach such extremes. Life is a precious gift and losing an 18 year old boy makes you reflect on many things.
