Santa Maria la Carità – A quiet evening walk turned into a nightmare for a 27-year-old woman, attacked and robbed while returning home along Via Scafati.
The young woman was thrown to the ground after two men on a scooter tore a necklace from her neck. Upon impact with the asphalt, she suffered a head wound, requiring five stitches. The injuries were deemed curable in six days.
Despite the pain and shock, the victim had the presence of mind to alert the Carabinieri by dialing the emergency number 112. The investigations were immediately started by the military of the Castellammare di Stabia company, with the support of their colleagues from the Torre Annunziata company.
Through the analysis of the images from the video surveillance cameras and the subsequent reconstruction of the path of the two robbers, the police they managed to trace the scooter used for the escape and the clothes worn during the robbery.
Within a few hours, the military tightened the noose around the alleged perpetrators: Francesco Formisano, 61, was arrested and charged with improper robbery. His alleged accomplice, a 56-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of the same crime.
Investigations are ongoing to clarify every detail of the attack and verify any responsibilities in other similar episodes in the area.
