A blitz planned down to the smallest details, captured by surveillance cameras, which brought the gang an estimated haul of around 30 thousand euros in jewels and valuables, leaving behind smashed shop windows, social alarm and increasingly discouraged shopkeepers.

The plan: road blocked and escape planned

The bandits' action began on the night between Monday and Tuesday. Before the robbery, the gang had stolen a car and parked it in the middle of via Federico Della Monica to block traffic and prevent the arrival of witnesses or law enforcement.

Then, around 4 a.m., four people with their faces covered arrived in an Audi – probably dark-colored – and began the assault.

While one remained in the car ready to flee and another attempted to tamper with the cameras, a third thief dedicated himself to the shutter, managing to open a gap with a flex and burglary tools.

The fourth one immediately attacked the glass cases with an axe, shattering them and taking everything inside. thugs, who had even brought empty containers to fill with the stolen goods, ignored the safe, a sign that they had clear ideas and a precise objective.

The alarm and the escape in a few moments

Despite the presence of a citizen who, leaning out of the balcony, witnessed the scene and immediately raised the alarm, the thieves managed to escape before the arrival of the patrols.

On the spot were attended by i police of the Nucleo Radiomobile and the Salerno Company, coordinated by Major Antonio Corvino. The investigators are now sifting through the images from the cameras, both public and private, in an attempt to trace those responsible.

The episode reported in the article is very worrying for the safety of the merchants. It is incredible how they can act so quickly, but it is expected that the police will be able to find those responsible as soon as possible.
