Tivoli, a quiet under-13 soccer match turned into a nightmare. On Sunday evening, in a sports club on the outskirts of Rome, a spectator was suddenly hit by a bullet while watching the match. The woman, hit in the arm, was rushed to the hospital with a red code. Only by chance did the trajectory of the shot not prove fatal.
The investigations of the police, who intervened immediately on the spot, led to a small villa located a short distance from the camp. There, in the garden, the officers found a 56-year-old man who, at the sight of the police, attempted a desperate move: returning home, he tried to grab a gun hidden in a bedside table. His gesture was however stopped by the officers, who disarmed him and arrested him.
Inside the house, the chilling discovery: a real arsenal. Two pistols Beretta, a blank rifle, two historical weapons, a bow and 29 arrows. Not only that. The bullet extracted from the woman's arm was found to be compatible with one of the guns found, closing the circle on an act that only by a miracle did not turn into a tragedy.
The 56-year-old was arrested on the very serious charges of attempted murder, illegal possession of weapons, threats and resisting a public official. For the woman, hospitalized and still in shock, the prognosis is thirty days. The motive for a crazy act, committed while children were running on the field, remains to be clarified.

This news is truly shocking, I can't believe a children's football match has turned into something so tragic. Safety must always be the priority, especially where young people are involved.
