Torre Annunziata – The Naples Police Headquarters continues its non-stop checks to combat drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.
In the latest raid, the police officers from the Police Station Torre Annunziata, supported by a canine unit from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, arrested a 28-year-old local man, already known to the police for drug-related crimes and resisting a public official.
Yesterday afternoon, during a targeted operation, the officers headed to a suspicious home for a check. Before even entering, however, they saw a shopping bag containing 10 blocks of marijuana, for a total weight of about one kilo, fly out of the window.
The young man, having noticed the presence of the agents, attempted to escape, but was immediately intercepted and blocked after a brief chase. A search of the apartment led to the discovery of:
2.400 euros in cash (including banknotes and coins), hidden in a metal cabinet;
Two counterfeit 50 euro notes;
A precision scale and drug packaging material.
The charges: drugs, counterfeit money and resistance
The man was arrested for illegal possession of drugs and resisting a public official. He was also reported for spending and introducing counterfeit money into the national territory.
The 28-year-old was transferred to prison awaiting trial, while investigations continue to establish on whose behalf he was dealing drugs and who his customers and suppliers were.

It's amazing how people continue to do illegal things, but the police do a great job in stopping drug trafficking. I hope these controls continue and that there will be more arrests in the future.
