During the press conference held at the Municipality of Torre del Greco, Mayor Luigi Mennella underlined the importance of a “serious and articulated” program to promote the beauties of the city, “in the heart of the Gulf of Naples”. “The festival of the Four Altars – he declared – is an integral part of our identity and tells the DNA of Torre del Greco. After the positive results of last year, we are convinced that relaunching it in 2025 will bring new energy and visibility to the territory”.
Patrizia Porzio, artistic director of the event, illustrated the guideline of the review: "We have chosen a choral vision, where each actor has a fundamental role for the success of the event. For this reason, we have decided to entrust the official opening to four songs performed by the City Choir, directed by maestro Giuseppe Polese, who will perform in the churchyard of the Basilica of Santa Croce".
Among those present at the meeting with the press were the president of the city council Gaetano Frulio, the vice president of the regional council Loredana Raia, the director of the Culture Office Gaetano Camarda, the commander of the municipal police Gennaro Russo and the representatives of the Youth Forum, testifying to the strong involvement of the various city realities.
Gabriele Esposito, called to open the performances on the two main stages (the one at the ex Molini Meridionali Marzoli and the one in via Comizi), confessed to feeling "the weight of responsibility in opening a festival with an important tradition, also known in my hometown, Brusciano, but I also feel all the adrenaline of this moment". Andrea Sannino - unable to attend in person - sent a video message to the organizers, declaring himself "happy to perform for the first time officially in Torre del Greco" and inviting the public to participate in large numbers.
The “Four Altars” and the carpets: titles and authors

An interesting fact
Did you know that the tradition of the Four Altars in Torre del Greco dates back to the 1673th century and was born from the historic Marian devotion linked to the Basilica of Santa Croce? Right here, in 350, the first altar in honor of the Eucharist was established, giving rise to a religious custom that even today, over XNUMX years later, attracts thousands of visitors every year to the heart of the Gulf of Naples. This anecdote not only underlines the cultural and spiritual importance of the festival, but also represents an element of charm for those who passionately follow the traditions of Campania.
