A loan of one and a half million euros that became a nightmare. This is the dramatic story of a Caserta businessman who ended up in the grip of usury and threats, which pushed him to report everything to the Guardia di Finanza. After six months of intense investigations, conducted by the Caserta Guardia di Finanza Group and coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office of North Naples, two men ended up under house arrest, accused of usury and extortion.
According to what has emerged from the investigative activities, corroborated by wiretaps, stakeouts, shadowing and bank checks, the two suspects - one resident in the Naples area and the other in the province of Caserta – would have paid out large sums in exchange for repayments with interest rates well above the limits set by the Ministry of Economy. For three years, the entrepreneur would have had to honor monthly installments between 5 thousand and 20 thousand euros, but each delay in payments turned into an escalation of threats and pressure, with the clear message that behind that money there could be “other people”.
When the military began the searches, they found jewels, luxury watches and cash. The seizure, ordered by the Prosecutor's Office, reached a value of over 165 thousand euros. The investigation, which brought to light a ruthless and silent system, confirmed once again how usury continues to represent a plague for those who, pressed by need, end up in the wrong hands.

The topic discussed in the article is very serious and deserves attention. It is sad to see how people can be exploited in situations of need. I hope that these investigations can lead to more justice and protection for victims of usury.
