5 million euros seized from the king of funeral services
AAcerra – State Police have seized assets worth approximately €5 million in Acerra, stealing them from Salvatore Giordano Pacilio, born in 1969, a repeat offender believed to be connected to local organized crime.
The man, active in the lucrative sector of Funeral, he would have built a real economic empire shielded by front men and fictitious companies.
The seizure order, carried out yesterday morning by the Anti-Crime Division of the Naples Police Headquarters, was issued by the Court of Naples – Prevention Measures Section – on the proposal of the Police Chief, at the end of an asset investigation which revealed the disproportion between the declared income and the accumulated assets, many of which can be traced back to the influence of the Crimaldi clan, historically rooted in the Acerra area.
Pacilio, already definitively convicted of crimes aggravated by mafia methods—including receiving stolen goods, arson, possession of weapons, personal injury, and fraudulent bankruptcy—is believed to have continued to exercise direct control over numerous businesses, despite formally registering them in third-party names.
The seizure involved real estate in the municipality of Acerra, the entire corporate assets of several funeral services companies, including offices in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, vehicles, and numerous financial transactions. All assets were found to be in the actual possession of the suspect.
The operation is part of the State Police's strategy of targeting illicit assets to target the economic interests of organized crime and restore legality to the local economy.

It's interesting to see how the police are doing their job in stopping organized crime. However, it would also be good to have more transparency about their operations and results. People need to know.
