Fondi – Four people, including a Neapolitan and a Caserta native, have been arrested in connection with a violent shooting that occurred in Fondi on the night of May 14-15.
The ambush, which took place near a club near the sports hall, left a 40-year-old man with a criminal record injured, shot in the leg but who managed to escape under fire from the attackers.
Those arrested, all with criminal records, are a 34-year-old from Caserta, a 38-year-old from Naples, a 44-year-old from Rome, and a 33-year-old woman from the province of Rome. All residents of Fondi, they are charged with conspiracy to commit attempted murder , as well as illegal possession of a firearm. Two of them are also being investigated for aggravated theft of the car used in the attack, stolen in Fondi between May 12 and 14.
The most daring arrest
Three of the four had already been captured on July 3rd. This morning, however, the fourth suspect was apprehended after a wild chase. The man, in a car with his pregnant wife, first rammed the police car , sending it into a ditch, then abandoned the woman and continued his escape alone.
With his car now damaged and a wheel missing, he crashed into a wall. He then attempted to flee on foot, but was caught and arrested.
The investigation, coordinated by the Latina Public Prosecutor's Office and conducted by the Flying Squad and the Fondi Police Station, reconstructed the dynamics of the attack, confirming the premeditation of the attack. The four are now in prison, awaiting further investigation.

The arrest of these people makes me think the situation in the city has worsened. It's no longer safe, not even in bars. I hope justice takes its course and similar incidents never happen again.
It's true, it's worrying to see the increase in violence. We must do something to improve security and prevent similar incidents. The community must unite to address this problem together.
