Woman reported for mistreated cats at home.
AArzano – During an inspection of a residential building, local police officers in Arzano discovered that a local woman was keeping over 30 cats in an apartment.
They lived among excrement, without food and water, and with a compromised environment at risk of spreading diseases to the residents.
The men, led by Colonel Biagio Chiariello, together with the medical staff of theASL Napoli 2 North, they managed to enter the house and noticed a horrible smell due to the precarious conditions in which the cats were kept.
The animals were fed and a mayoral order was issued requesting that the premises be cleaned up, but the woman, unconcerned, was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples North for both mistreatment and non-compliance.
Meanwhile, the cats have been placed in an animal shelter and are doing well.
The measures implemented by the officials and veterinarians demonstrate a synergy between organizations whose primary goal is to protect animal welfare during a period where their health and survival are already at risk due to the intense heat.
