Naples – Starting Monday, July 14, ASL Napoli 1 Centro will launch a new Prevention and Treatment Service for minors who are victims of mistreatment, abuse, neglect, and developmental trauma.
Operating at the Complex Operating Unit for the Protection of Women's, Children's, and Adolescents' Health, at Via Scudillo a Pietravalle 24, the service aims to combat "adverse childhood experiences"—physical , psychological, sexual, neglect, or witnessed violence—which can leave deep scars, with effects that last into adulthood.
"Caring for young people means caring for the future," said General Manager Ciro Verdoliva. "We have hired new staff and created a multi-professional team with dedicated psychologists to ensure continuity of care for these vulnerable and vulnerable clients."
The team, composed of experts, will take care of minors reported by the Judicial Authorities, collaborating with Social Services and other institutions, as well as suspicious cases reported by associations, schools, or local social services.
The service offers individualized, free, and non-prescription-based services. Access is through institutional referrals (via Social Services for legal cases or by email to serviziotutelaminori@aslnapoli1centro.it (mailto:serviziotutelaminori@aslnapoli1centro.it) for other agencies) or direct contact (081 2549965 / 9964 / 9527, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 14:00 pm). Open every weekday morning (8:30 am - 14:00 pm) and three afternoons a week for clinical consultations by appointment, the service provides support to minors, families, and young people.
This is an important initiative that can help young people who have been abused. We hope the service works well and that many minors can receive the help they need. Children's health is fundamental.
