Assault on a bus driver in Naples
AAvellino – He intervened to defend a woman attacked by her partner, but was savagely beaten. The victim of yesterday's violent incident inside the Avellino bus station is an Air Campania driver, who ended up in the emergency room after being punched and headbutted by the man who was abusing his partner.
According to investigators' reconstruction, the victim—a young woman—was kicked, punched, and slapped by her partner in full view of those present. The driver, noticing the scene, intervened to defend her but became the target of the attacker's fury himself.
The man was subsequently identified by the Flying Squad of the Avellino Police Headquarters, who began the necessary investigations.
Solidarity with the employee came from the sole director of Air Campania, Antony Acconcia, who expressed “appreciation for the driver's gesture of courage and civic sense” and firmly condemned the attack.
