Hefty fine for illegal work in Benevento
BENEVENTO – Seventeen workers were completely undeclared, and another fourteen were formally employed but irregularly employed: this is the result of an operation conducted by the Benevento Financial Police, which uncovered serious labor and social security violations by a company operating in the province of Sannio.
The intervention was launched as part of an extraordinary plan to combat irregular work, carried out by the military of the Lieutenancy of MontesarchioDuring the inspection, the financial police found that between 2022 and 2023, the company had paid numerous individuals cash compensation for work performed that had never been regularized.
The subsequent economic and financial analysis allowed us to reconstruct the non-contractualized employment relationships, which therefore lacked any protection in terms of wages, social security, and welfare.
The conditions of the 14 formally employed workers were also particularly serious, even though their employer had never fulfilled the social security and insurance obligations required by law.
For the irregularities discovered, fines totaling approximately €90 were imposed. This operation is part of the Guardia di Finanza's broader commitment to protecting economic legality and workers' rights.
