Benevento: Three accomplices arrested in the attempted murder of ex-partner

Share

BENevento – A story that sounds like something out of a noir film, but unfortunately, it's true. This morning, the Flying Squad arrested two men and a woman, believed to be accomplices in an unbelievable attempted murder.

The victim? Annarita Taddeo, Nicola Fallarino's ex-partner, who on November 11, 2023, as she left home to go to work at the bar she ran, found herself facing a nightmare.

Imagine the scene: on a normal autumn morning, Annarita is out with her dog like every other day, when suddenly a man wearing a helmet shoots her point-blank, hitting her in the face.

Before fleeing on a scooter—which later turns out to be stolen in Naples—he even steals two of her cell phones. A gratuitous, seemingly senseless act of violence.

But as is often the case, the devil is in the details. The attack wasn't a random one: it was the brainchild of her former partner, Nicola Fallarino, who has since become a collaborator with justice.

It is thanks to his confessions that we have now reached these three arrests. He, who had initially chosen the shortened procedure After receiving a 10-year prison sentence, he then decided to collaborate, providing the Naples District Anti-Mafia Office with all the elements needed to piece together the puzzle.

The three arrested are not simply supporting actors. According to investigators, they played an active role in the entire affair: one procured the weapon, another the getaway scooter, and another the logistics.

An almost perfect crime machine, except that – fortunately – Annarita survived and today, almost two years later, justice is taking its course.

The most chilling thing? The murder weapon and the scooter were found right near the home of one of the arrested men. In other words, crime sometimes literally returns to the scene of the crime. Now the three will be held in prison awaiting trial, while the legal proceedings unfold.

And Annarita? She continues to fight, as she has since that fateful day. Her story reminds us how twisted love can turn to hate, and how this hate can lead to extreme acts. But it also reminds us that, as difficult as it may seem, justice arrives eventually. Even if sometimes it takes a little longer than expected.

  • Annarita's story is truly tragic and makes us reflect on how certain situations can escalate. It should never come to such extremes. We hope that justice will take its course and those responsible will be punished.
