SNicola Manfredi — A 30-year-old man was removed from his family home and placed under a residency ban in the municipality of San Nicola Manfredi, in the province of Benevento, accused of mistreatment of his mother.
The precautionary measure was carried out by the agents of the Flying Squad of Benevento, following a court order issued at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office. The investigation began after the mother filed a complaint, exasperated by months of domestic violence.
According to investigators' reconstruction, the son allegedly engaged in systematic harassment, consisting of daily insults, threats—including death threats—and constant demands for money. This climate of terror culminated in a particularly disturbing episode: the woman reported finding a serrated kitchen knife in the shower, a clear sign of intimidation.
The victim, increasingly frightened, had gotten to the point of locking herself in her room, in order to avoid any contact with her son in the common areas of the house.
The Prosecutor's Office found that there were serious indications of guilt and a real risk of the crime being repeated, ordering the man's immediate removal from the home and a ban on him approaching his mother.
Investigations are continuing to ascertain any other incidents of violence or abuse.
