SSan Sebastiano al Vesuvio – The Vesuvian summer lights up with laughter and culture with the fourth edition of "Sere d'Estate" at the Arena San Sebastiano. On Thursday, July 31st, at 21:15 PM, the stage beneath the starry sky of Vesuvius will host an icon of Neapolitan comedy: Biagio Izzo, who will perform his irresistible show, "An Italian from Naples."
An unmissable event for an evening that promises to combine entertainment and reflection, in the spirit of a festival that has established itself as a benchmark for theater and culture in the region.
With “An Italian of Naples”, Biagio Izzo offers a brilliant monologue that intertwines the humor of the Neapolitan tradition with a modern and sharp comedy.
On stage, the actor paints a lively and ironic portrait of the "average Italian" seen through the lens of Naples: a Naples of daily habits, familiar obsessions, and musings aloud, masterfully transformed into a tale that is both anecdote and parable. Like a modern-day Pulcinella, Izzo captivates the audience with his disarming smile, transforming every line into a fragment of urban poetry and making the show a declaration of love to the city that has consecrated him as an artist.
Directed by Pino Oliva for the Teatro Troisi, “An Italian from Naples” is much more than a comedy: it is a mirror of contemporary society, an exercise in identity that celebrates Naples without ever falling into rhetoric, but with the lightness and intelligence that distinguish Izzo's talent.
Her performance fits perfectly into the "Sere d'Estate" program, a festival that, year after year, confirms itself as a high-level cultural project, capable of combining laughter and reflection, entertainment and thought.
The Arena San Sebastiano, under the guidance of the Municipality of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio and Mayor Giuseppe Panico, reaffirms itself as a space for gathering and beauty, made possible by the synergy between the Campania Region, the Metropolitan City of Naples, the Film Commission, Red Carpet, Teatro Troisi, Napoli Jazz Club, and Social Break Point. This dialogue between the public and private sectors makes every event an opportunity to celebrate art and community.
As the Vesuvian summer continues to thrill, "Sere d'Estate" prepares to welcome the public with an invitation: let yourself be carried away by Biagio Izzo's comedy, to laugh, reflect, and rediscover the beating heart of Naples. Tickets are available online and at authorized sales points. All that's left to do is save the date: Wednesday, July 31st, the Arena San Sebastiano awaits everyone for an evening of pure theater under the stars.

I think it's important to promote events like these, even if sometimes people prefer to stay home. But a nice monologue under the stars could be a great opportunity to socialize and have fun.
I've heard good things about Biagio Izzo, but I don't know if his style will appeal to everyone. Naples has a rich culture, and perhaps this show can appeal to a wide range of audiences, even those who don't like comedy.
The event looks very interesting, but I'm not sure if I'll go. Izzo's comedy is always entertaining, but I wonder if the tickets are affordable. Hopefully there will be discounts.
