An operation by the Carabinieri of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Company began at dawn today, resulting in the execution of eight precautionary measures against eight suspects, held responsible—on various counts and in concert—for the possession and dealing of narcotics and the illegal possession and possession of weapons.
The order, issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, concerns residents of the municipalities of Grazzanise and Santa Maria la Fossa. Three suspects were sent to prison, two were placed under house arrest, and three were ordered to report to the judicial police.
The investigation, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Station of grazzanise, developed between August 2021 and March 2023 and made use of telephone and environmental interceptions, testimonies of buyers, shadowing and field observation services.
The suspects were running a drug dealing ring in the two municipalities of Caserta
The investigations documented numerous incidents of cocaine and hashish dealing, with an estimated turnover of over €70.000, and three incidents of illegal possession of weapons in public places.
Conversations between the suspects, often masked by cryptic and conventional language, were decoded by investigators, allowing them to reconstruct the group's network of contacts and operational methods.
During the investigation, two arrests had already been made: one for possession and carrying of a firearm in a public place, the other for drug possession. Two pistols—one with the serial number removed—59 bullets, and approximately 400 grams of cocaine and hashish were also seized.
