The news in brief
- A 33 year old Neapolitan criminal record è stato denunciato dopo aver aggredito una ragazza a Capri, filmato da passanti.
- L'uomo, in state of intoxication, ha anche molestato turisti. Le autorità cercano la victim per supportarla e raccogliere informazioni.
Copen- A 33-year-old from Naples with a criminal record is the man who is the protagonist of yet another episode that casts the blue island, the island of VIPs, in a bad light.
He was identified and reported after images of him savagely beating a girl went viral. It happened around 5am this morning in the central Via Roma in Capri at 5am on Sunday morning, outside a bar near the taxi rank.
After the violence that was filmed by some passers-by and sent to the Green MP, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who spread it, he was the protagonist of another episode in the port area of Marina Grande.
Clearly intoxicated, he harassed a number of tourists and passersby. The Carabinieri intervened, stopped him, and reported him. The man was in Capri for work.
But the viral images show the attack on the girl, who was first pushed to the ground and then tried to put his hands around her neck, brandishing a bottle. Only the threat of calling the police from some of those present stopped the attacker from continuing.
Efforts are underway to locate the woman who was the victim of the attack.
Meanwhile, the Carabinieri are also trying to track down the victim of this terrible episode.
"This is unacceptable violence," Borrelli commented, "and I ask all those who witnessed the scene to provide useful information to law enforcement to prevent this brute from getting away with it and committing similar shameful acts in the future. The victim must not be left alone.
Reporting is always difficult in these cases, and for this very reason, we must express the island community's full solidarity. Violence against women is an evil that must be defeated with everyone's help, not with indifference. I hope that useful information will be gathered to prevent the aggressor from harming anyone again.
