Casavatore – The historic Gigli festival closes with a performance by Gigi Finizio. Last night, the 129th edition of the Ballata dei Gigli closed with a truly packed evening, with people from other towns and cities also attending.
Gigi Finizio's concert provided extraordinary emotions and had thousands of people singing along with his captivating music.
And then, to round out the evening, the traditional fireworks display that mark the end of the festival were set off in the skies above Casavatore, casting a spell over the square.
“It was truly moving for me to see everyone's smiles and hear the words of appreciation and happiness for how the festive evenings went,” said Mayor Fabrizio Celaj.
"I'm thrilled by the many messages of appreciation I've received, and I can only say thank you. My deepest thanks, in fact, go to everyone for their warm participation and your constant presence."
The mayor also thanked all the municipal employees, without exception, "because it's thanks to them that all this was accomplished so well," concluding with a promise: "We need to work toward the next edition. We're already preparing the next chapter of this festival that unites and entertains the community."

The closing of the Gigli festival was a very well-attended event, but I also noticed some significant organizational issues. Some events didn't go as planned, and the music was a bit loud.
