Caserta – Illegal work, environmental irregularities, and safety violations: this is the outcome of the joint operation conducted by the Carabinieri of the Marcianise Company, with the support of the Caserta Labor Inspectorate and the Forestry Department, which combed through three car washes in the municipalities of Gricignano d'Aversa, Marcianise, and Orta di Atella.

The raid ended with three charges filed, fines of over 77 euros, and the suspension of two businesses.

Gricignano d'Aversa
At the first car wash inspected, the owner—a 36-year-old local—was reported for employing four illegal immigrant workers. He was also charged with serious environmental violations, including failure to maintain a register of hazardous and non-hazardous waste loading and unloading, and failure to submit an annual environmental declaration. The administrative fines amounted to €12.500.

The situation was even more critical at a plant managed by a 36-year-old from Aprilia, where officers found an undocumented worker and another without a residence permit. They also found a lack of maintenance of the purification system, resulting in irregular discharges into the public sewer system. Numerous violations of environmental regulations were found, including irregularities in the management of sludge and water and omissions in documentation. The plant was suspended and the procedure for revoking the environmental permit was initiated. Fines totaled €24.000.

Orta di Atella
Finally, in a car wash attributable to a 54 year old CasagioveIn the case of the previous two incidents, the Carabinieri found four undeclared workers and five employees who had not undergone medical examinations or received workplace safety training. Environmental violations similar to those in the other two incidents were also identified. Fines exceeded €41.000, resulting in suspension of operations and a report for revocation of the permit.

The operation confirms the Carabinieri's crackdown on regulatory compliance in high-risk sectors, such as car washes. Checks will continue throughout the province in the coming days.
