Caserta – A young drug dealer was arrested after being caught by the Carabinieri selling crack to a woman already under house arrest.
The operation, conducted yesterday afternoon by the Mobile Radio Section of the Caserta Carabinieri Company, led to the arrest in flagrante delicto of a 20-year-old from San Prisco, charged with supplying and possessing narcotics and resisting arrest.
The crack trail: 40 euros for two doses
During a targeted control service on people subjected to precautionary measures, the military noticed the young man while he was delivering two doses of crack (for a total of 0,7 grams) to a 30-year-old woman from Caserta, in exchange for 40 euros. The woman, already under house arrest, was reported to the Prefecture as a drug user and charged with evasion.
As the Carabinieri approached, the 20-year-old attempted to flee, kicking and punching officers in a desperate attempt to evade detection. He was apprehended after a brief chase and searched: six more crack cocaine (for a total of 6 grams) and €1,48 in cash, presumably proceeds from drug dealing, were found in his pants pocket.
The arrested man, already known to law enforcement, was taken to prison pending a summary trial. Meanwhile, the 30-year-old woman has been released but faces charges of evasion and drug use.
The operation confirms the Carabinieri's commitment to combating drug trafficking, including through targeted checks on individuals already reported.
