Arzano It was the year 1998 when, in the province of Pisa, Tuscany, a Piaggio model "Si" was stolen from a woman near the school she attended.
During some checks in the area, local police officers identified a warehouse where five collector's mopeds were kept, including a "SI" page.
The owner of the place, a 40-year-old from Arzano, showed the documents when asked for the vehicles, but something immediately struck the officers as strange about their authenticity.
The old model booklet does not report the owner's data and was found to have some anomalies on the letters and on the colour of the vehicle which, from the information requested from Piaggio in Pontedera and from checks, emerged that it was red while the recovered one was white.

The men, coordinated by Colonel Biagio Chiariello, then proceeded to contact the female owner who lives in Tuscany and to return the now vintage moped.
The owner thanked him since the vehicle was linked to childhood memories, when she went to high school, while the person responsible was instead reported for the crime of receiving stolen goods.

It's interesting how they managed to find the stolen moped in 1998, but I wonder why there were anomalies in the booklet. I hope that the controls will be more severe in the future to avoid similar problems.
